How Renewable Heating Helped Steph Slash Her Electricity Bill

You might remember Steph from a previous blog, where she raved about her Honeywell Evohome system. At the time, she had an air source heat pump (ASHP) installed — but unfortunately, it wasn’t running efficiently. In fact, it wasn’t running at all. The system was so underperforming that she had it switched off for the entire winter, relying on electric heaters and immersion for hot water.
Diagnosing the Problem
Steph got in touch with us to see if anything could be done. We carried out a comprehensive heat pump service, checking over the entire system to identify what was causing the issues.
A few technical faults were uncovered — nothing major, but enough to affect performance and efficiency. After completing some targeted remedial work, we recommissioned the system and brought it back online.

The difference? Incredible.
Before our work, Steph’s electricity costs were hitting £217 per month. Since getting the ASHP back up and running, her electricity bill has dropped to just £83 per month — and that’s while covering both heating and hot water.
