Air Source Heating Problems? We’re here to help…
We have received a number of calls from people requesting maintenance on their air source heat pump. They had installations from various renewable heating companies who have recently shut up shop. Some such companies are; Heating, Energy & Associated Renewables Technologies Limited otherwise known as Heart Heating, or BM Renewables amongst others. The closure of these companies has left some of their customers in the lurch with renewable heating systems that don’t work as they were promised, causing inconvenience and worry.
What to do…
If your renewable heat installation company, such as Heart Heating, is no longer trading and you think you may have air source heat problems what can you do?
1) Firstly you should identify what the problem with your air source heating system is. Does it run efficiently? Does the heat pump installation cost a fortune in electricity to run? Does the pump make any funny noises when it is turned on? All of these things can point to bad workmanship and you could make a claim against the workmanship warranty, usually HIES that the installer should have taken out as part of your installation package.
To find out if your air source heat pump is installed correctly you should get an independent heat pump inspection carried out. We are offering free renewable heating inspections and will report back on our findings which will help you if you should raise a claim against the workmanship.
2) Secondly, you need to dig out your paperwork from your renewable heating company relating to the installation.
Your manufacturer’s warranties and workmanship warranty details should also have been given to you. If your workmanship warranty is still in force then book your heat pump inspection now – before the warranty runs out.
You may not be aware of any issues with your system now, but they may crop up at a later date. One call we have recently received was from a lady who’s heat pump was costing her a fortune to run. After we inspected it, it was discovered that it wasn’t installed in line with building regulations and was dangerous. This client only has a few weeks until her HIES warranty expires, so we are working with her to put a claim in to cover the remedial work required to make the heat pump system safe. What’s more, the original installation company didn’t register the manufacturer’s warranty, so the 5 years warranty she thought she had is, in reality, only 12 months and now expired.
3) Are you getting what you paid for? If you think that you were mis-sold your air source heat pump then we can give you a free independent review of your system and RHI payments and see whether you have a case. If your installation company sold you a renewable heat finance package to pay for the system then you may be able to make a claim from the finance company if it were discovered that your system was mis-sold.
4) Book a renewable heating health check now. For independent advice and peace of mind that your heat pump is safe and working as it should then call us now – 0114 399 3910
